Managing Director of Railey Mountain Lake Vacations Elected to 

Board of Directors for the Vacation Rental Managers Association

McHenry, MD - February 7, 2011 -  Leigh Clarke, the Managing Director of Railey Mountain Lake Vacations, was recently elected to the board of directors for the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA).  The VRMA is a nationwide professional organization dedicated to the improvement and education of vacation rental agencies.  

As a member of the board of directors, Leigh’s primary goals will be improving the quality of training for vacation rental managers and staff, as well as encouraging the sharing of knowledge between vacation rental companies.  Through the VRMA, Leigh is heavily involved in a national public relations effort to raise awareness of vacation rental homes as an alternative to hotels.  This public relations effort includes a new TV reality series focusing on the unique experience a vacation home offers.  According to an industry study in 2009 only 8% of travelers have stayed in a vacation rental home, and Leigh hopes to increase this percentage significantly through her involvement in the VRMA.  

Leigh possesses an extensive background in vacation rental management, including having owned a vacation rental company in New York and provided industry consultation services before joining Railey Mountain Lake Vacations. She received her MBA from INSEAD and her BS in Commerce from University of Virginia.
